Alex Zhang: How CONSMOS Sustained Exports Above 1 Billion Yuan Year After Year
Amid a volatile global economy, rising trade frictions and frequent geopolitical conflicts, many foreign trade enterprises are under mounting growth pressure. Yet CONSMOS GROUP has delivered an outstanding performance: its annual export volume has repeatedly exceeded 1 billion yuan, with products sold to more than 130 countries and regions.

As the leader of this star foreign trade enterprise in Linyi, Zhang Shaolong has spent 16 years forging ahead, writing an extraordinary entrepreneurial story centered on brand building, integrity and innovation.
Founded in 2010 in the trading hub of Linyi, CONSMOS GROUP took a different path from most foreign trade companies that rely on OEM and private labeling. Right from the start, Zhang Shaolong held a firm vision of building an independent brand. He created the English brand “CONSMOS”, meaning “construct the world”, integrating the quality and craftsmanship of China’s building materials into its core value.
In 2011, only one year after its establishment, CONSMOS debuted this new brand at European exhibitions and quickly attracted keen attention from overseas customers. After 16 years of deep cultivation, the brand has secured a strong foothold in South America and Europe. Today, 70% of CONSMOS’ exported products carry its own brand, making it a highly recognizable “Chinese name card” in the international wood-based panel market.

“Building a brand is difficult but the right thing to do,” Zhang Shaolong acknowledged. Promoting an independent brand among powerful international importers and distributors was no easy task. To establish its brand reputation, CONSMOS has insisted on strict quality control, established standardized production and packaging systems, and achieved fast delivery within one week—far exceeding the industry average. Internally, brand shipment ratio is set as a core KPI, pushing the sales team to strengthen brand awareness.
What makes CONSMOS even more reputable is its unwavering commitment to integrity and standard operations. Zhang Shaolong laid down an iron rule: never ship products with known defects abroad. This principle has helped CONSMOS avoid any litigation with foreign clients and maintain timely payments to suppliers over 16 years, earning strong trust across the industry.

In corporate culture, CONSMOS adopts a people-oriented approach, creating a popular modern workplace equipped with a pet room and children’s play area to help employees balance work and life. The group has also established university-enterprise cooperation with Linyi University, Shandong Agricultural University and other institutions, supporting young talent to grow rapidly and forming a stable talent echelon where new employees progress fast and senior staff stay long.
Innovation has been another key to CONSMOS’ breakthrough.
Its patented full-birch technical board, produced through 42 sophisticated processes, matches high-end products from Finland and Russia, breaking the foreign monopoly in the high-end panel market.
Its pioneering Seven-Star Quality System for construction formwork sets a benchmark in the domestic industry with refined differentiation across production and application scenarios.
Backed by 19 patents and over 10 international certifications, CONSMOS products have successfully entered high-end markets in Europe and the United States. In 2025, following the implementation of the AEO mutual recognition between China and Burundi, CONSMOS—as the first AEO-certified wood enterprise in Linyi—shortened customs clearance time by 2–3 days and reduced overall costs by 50%, demonstrating strong brand competitiveness.
Collaborative supply chain development underpins CONSMOS’ steady growth. At the first Supplier Conference held in Linyi in late 2025, more than 300 partners gathered together. Zhang Shaolong proposed upgrading relationships with suppliers from simple supply-and-demand to strategic partnerships, sharing market insights and R&D achievements. This sincerity, rooted in 16 years of “no delayed payments, no defective shipments”, has united strong industrial partners even in challenging times.

Looking ahead, Zhang Shaolong remains determined. CONSMOS is striving toward its vision of “A Century-Old Enterprise, 10 Billion Yuan Goal, 100 Business Units”. In 2026, the group plans to recruit 30–50 highly educated talents to expand its foreign trade team. Riding on Linyi’s “Market Expansion to the World” initiative, CONSMOS will increase investment in overseas exhibitions and further deepen its global brand layout.
“We want the world to fall in love with China-made panels,” said Zhang Shaolong with confidence.
From a startup to an industry leader, Zhang Shaolong has embodied the spirit of Linyi entrepreneurs in the new era: soul forged by integrity, foundation built by brand, power driven by innovation. Amid globalization, CONSMOS is marching forward with pride, composing a brilliant chapter for Linyi manufacturing.
